Well, it’s long overdue but as you can see the site has finally had a bit of a refresh. There’s still a couple of bits to do, but it’s midnight and well past my beddy-byes so I’m leaving it like this for now.
Enjoy.
(if it still looks a bit yellow and manky but with a new graphic up top, just hit refresh on your browser and everything should update).

It’s definitely worth heading over to The Foot Down where there’s a very interesting and dare I say, sensible debate going on about the merits of wearing a helmet (or not).

Ty has put together a very balanced post (unusual for him
) and the comments have so far not descended into stupidity as can sometimes happen.
Head on over and voice your opinion.

For the past 4 years, there has been a collection (or gaggle – what’s the term for a group of cyclists?) of riders that make a 100 mile journey through the night from Bristol to Exmouth,
This year, Fixed Gear Cardiff were part of that collection.
For us the ride started at Bristol Parkway which, as many of you know, is nowhere fucking near Bristol – 6 miles to be precise. Things didn’t start well with Oz losing his chain after just 3 miles.
Still, we all made it to a hotel-come-pub, the start point where a cheeky pint was necked and the final bike checkovers were done. It was nice to see some familiar faces from trackdropouts, in particular Jason who clearly knew that Cardiff was going to kick his ass that night! It was also good to see Rich, one of our polo regulars who travels from England to Wales most weekends…
We set off at about 9pm and headed over Clifton suspension bridge, each of us with an idea in our mind as to how harsh it would be. It was a mixed bunch – 13 of us intending to stick together for the distance – some fixed, some single speed, some fully geared.

… Wales’ best new up and coming channel makes it’s virgin broadcast today featuring the hottest presenter (you know, as in blazin’ hot at presenting, not hot as in I fancy him. right?) of 2010.

Check out the video over on The Foot Down and keep an eye out for the new channel hitting your telly boxes as soon as some bright TV exec cops a look at the material.

It’s fast approaching the 2nd annual trackdropouts tunnel sprints event over the river in a town called Bristol, in a country called England.

The premise seems fairly simple: a classic hot rod drag style race between 2 riders, through a tunnel on the Bristol to Bath cycle path. Pedal like mad and the first one to cross the line wins.

Monday 21st June saw Cardiff’s first Rollapaluza event and it was a blinder. For those of you that are unfamiliar, Rollapaluza is a roller racing competition (which has a history going back to the beginning of cycling), pitting competitors against each other on static bikes with the rear wheel on a couple of rollers. These are hooked up to magic timing machines that will tell you how far a rider has pedalled and in what time. Easy right? No.
